FEATURED: QUANTA MAGAZINE
As a freelancer, I worked with Quanta Magazine to create several animations for videos on science and mathematics. I used animation to explain how networks are used to prove a famous mathematical theory known as the “four-color theorem”. My most recent work with Quanta delved into “chronobiology”, or what goes on in our bodies in order to keep our biological clock in sync. Creating these visuals involved building proteins and depicting microscopic processes that typically aren’t seen visually or understood well by a general audience.
Quanta explores a lot of complex subjects with great detail in their articles. It seemed like the perfect fit to have animation help condense and clarify what is going on in our bodies and out in the world.

The four-color theorem says that, for any planar map, no more than four colors are needed for each region so that two adjacent regions do not share the same color.

Mimosa plants have circadian rhythm that prepares them to receive light even before the sun rises.
